#POPSUGAR PLAY/GROUND 2019 DAY 2: SUNDAY
Two days full of discovering new brands, shopping, workouts, free goodies, fashion, art, beauty, and a swell of photo opportunities at Pier 94 in New York City. That’s what the POPSUGAR Play/Ground festival brought to thousands of women in June. But, perhaps the most exciting thing amongst all of the festivities is the opportunity to hear your favorite celebrities speak on life, careers, success, reality, and everything in between. #bestweekendever
This year’s event was undoubtedly bigger and, dare I say, better than last year. POPSUGAR did not hold back and brought together our favorite ladies and BFF’s (in our head). Headliners included Issa Rae, Chrissy Teigen, Jen Atkins, Amanda Seyfried, Mandy Moore, and Camila Mendes. #girlpower
Last year’s keynote discussions came from Kate Hudson, Mindy Kaling, and Yara Shahidi. There was also an amazing performance by singer Tinashe. You can see highlights from last year’s event here. #fomo
I arrived at the event a bit later than I had originally planned to on Sunday and sadly missed out on Issa Rae. I did, however, get to hear Chrissy Teigan’s Q+A with celebrity hairstylist and entrepreneur, Jen Atkins. Yes, she was just as candid as you’d imagine her to be. #relatable
We — women — feel a lot of the same pressures; trying to strike the perfect work-life balance; holding on to our sense of self when in a relationship or as a mom; wanting to pursue our dreams; feeling like we are either doing too much or not doing enough. Basically, trying to have it all. Whatever that may be. But, truth be told, we can't always have it all. Each day will call for different things to be of priority. #life
I say all of that to say this; it’s refreshing to hear from women who seem to have it all together based on what we might perceive from tv or social media and know that they too are not always certain and are still trying to figure it all out. Ladies, let’s try not be so harsh on ourselves. #inthistogether
Thank you POPSUGAR for helping us see the beauty in powering our own "happily ever afters".
I can’t wait to see what's in store for next year.
Hope to see you there!
